firing a triac with a bs2?

would like to use a bs2 to control a 110v pump sequence. I'll be sensing water at a certain level and triggering the circuit to the pump based on the timing programmed in the bs2. Can I use a triac between the bs2 and the pump and also do you think any buffering is necessary between the bs2 and the pump circuitry? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

A solid state relay would be a good choice as all the design work has been done. If you plan to use the triac make sure you read up on proper circuit design.
