I know those links were requested, and I appreciate Parallax's (i.e. Bump's) response in providing them. So, even though I'm not among those who requested them (that's what bookmarks are for, after all), I suppose it's still rather unseemly of me to complain. But, by including them where they are, the forum's body fat percantage has just risen. And it was already too high.

This is a screen capture from my iMac (at 50% scale):
    attachment.php?attachmentid=75768&stc=1&d=1290899602

Fifty percent body fat is not healthy! The forum really needs to go on a diet. Is there any way to include those links in the blue area at the top of the window, and also to make the Parallax logo about half the height it currently is? Also, the box that says, "BASIC Stamp Project ideas, support,..." (and lines like it in other forums) is redundant and could be eliminated entirely, with the "Project ideas, ..." part included in the box above it.

Yeah, Bump, I know what you're thinking: "Geez, there's just no winning with these people!" Sorry, man, I feel your pain; I really do. But, at the end of the day, form still has to follow function.

    Thanks,
    -Phil

I hear ya; all I can say, at this moment, is that there will be changes to the look and location in the future.

Fear not, it will be more beautiful; trimmer, tighter, and still able to bench 3000 posts a day. I also hear it might try on some different... skins?

Ok, that might not work with the previously supplied metaphor.

Yeah, skin(s) 'n' bones! That's the ticket! 'Looking forward to the new lean, mean look and feel!

    Thanks, Bump!

@ Phil, Bump doesn't look like the lean, mean type. In fact, he is shaped a bit more like me...

But, Whit, your avatar, with its broad, steel shoulders and hard, metallic abs, looks quite lean and muscular! :)

So Phil, what do you call that wasted space that your non auto-hiding dock is taking up? :)

    That's what's known as a "render gap."

If you are going to have a robotic body, why not dream a bit...
