Thanks and much appreciation to SparkFun for their mini-tutorial entitled "How to Read a Datasheet". They have a variety of other tutorials, well worth browsing through (here).

    Hay Mike,
    Thanks for posting this! The lesson on how to use Eagle Cad is AWESOME and exactly what I needed!

    And the one on soldering SMD was very insightful!

    Even us "Old Dogs" can learn new tricks!

    Thanks again;

    Fred

    As a guy who only tinkers with electronics, I can attest to the horrid time I have trying to extract out of a data sheet the most basic of information. That tutorial is a good start, but there is SOOOOOOO much more than needs to be explained like that.

    Not all datasheets are the same, but they really are all thoughtfully written to provide much needed facts.

    And so, reading, and learning to read them is central to anyone with an electronics hobby.

    Some have take me years to grasp what the charts are about, but slowly I am learning.

    Just try to sort out the "need to know" from the "nice to know". AND REREAD OFTEN WHEN YOU ARE NOT QUITE SURE.
