I have been using Basic Stamps for over 10 years now. I made a custom capacitive touch keypad interface that lets you control your projects with buttons that can sense through any non-conductive material! We even have proximity detection! Now you can just waive your hand over the sensor and it triggers a button press! Take a look at www.RapidKeypads.com I can make single piece quantities for your prototypes and your projects! Our latest press release can be found here: http://www.prweb.com/releases/touch_switch/2010-11/prweb4820214.htm

There are videos and pictures that explain our technology further!

    Nice stuff!
How "durable" is a CTS keypad?

Unfortunately, bluesparq crossed the line from discussing his products and their merits to aggressively promoting them.

There are many capacitive touch sensors on the market. They range from easy to use to complex. You can make your own using a Stamp or Propeller. Here's an example using a Propeller.
