Linux won't detect my STAMP

Hi, I have a Pavilion 8904 Desktop computer with Xubuntu 10.04 and I have gotten all of the BASIC tools to work, except for that my STAMP is not detected. The command I run is

cat /home/richie/BStamp/Test.tok | bstamp_run

and I get the error

Error: No BASIC Stamp identified!
Probably the stamp isn't connected, perhaps your stamp version isn't supported?
Try looking at the help, try 'bstamp_run -h' for more information.

I have tried plugging the STAMP into both of my serial ports. The symbolic link is there, and all of the software is maked.
My STAMP version is 2.

I fixed this by replacing the battery with a power supply
