Xbee connection

if i am using an xbee with the adapter board, what else do i need to:connect series 1 xbee to a microcontroller, and connect the xbee so it can control 2 7.2v motors(the ones used on stingray) by my laptop(vista). Also, if anyone has a suggested microcontroller for using the xbee, that would be great.

A little more info would be nice. I would suggest the propeller for a microcontroller (as always). The voltages line up, and it could control (with a little additional circuitry) the motors while sending/receiving information from your laptop or other XBEE source.
