RC Servo mount

For another addition to the list of projects I haven't started yet:

Something I've always wanted to do is build a two legged walker. The Dynamixel servos would be ideal but at $50 each I can't.

The great thing about the Dynamixelis the mounting points and the axial mounting point opposite the drive wheel. Heck, the axial mounting location may be driven too, I dunno.

What do you think of this mount??? It would be a lot of work I'm afraid.... it's a lot of machining, but the way I figure, to make a walker I HAVE to have two things: A perpendicular mounting point, and an axial one.

I used 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" 6063 C-channel, 1/8" thick and two bronze washers...... and a round servo arm on a standard Futaba ~180deg positional servo

I need something simple. Any ideas? I haven't found a purchased / inexpensive part yet. I think plastic would be OK, maybe I'll try that. The machining would be easier.

Well, here's exactly what I was looking for. $6 each. Not too bad I guess :)

I assume you've seen these as well:

I like "playing" with the Lynxmotion SES (servo erector set) stuff. The parts make it pretty easy to try out different things.

By the way, your subject says "stepper" but it looks like you are talking about servos.

Schill, Yea, sorry I dunno what I was thinking when I made the subject

I finally did see the Lynxmotion stuff...... finally! It looks pretty nice. This is a perfect example of Googling the correct keywords.

Now I see some people have bent their own (with varying degrees of success) for less than a dollar each. The homebrew units look amazingly like mine too! Those Lynxmotion brackets sure do look tempting though. It's nice stuff, thank you!
