I got this

board off of ebay and first of all am at a loss as to how to even interface with this. I have little to none communication type programming experience, most of which resides in the BS2 and making high power RGB faders and the like. I am just learning how to program the propeller and the SX28. But I haven't gotten past the first couple of programs.

This is the datasheet of the device which I think gives a good indication of how it should work and even has some program code. I just need help interpreting it.

Also a strange thing I noticed is my LED modules are soldered to the other side of the board, where the HT1632C and LED resistors reside.

I have found plenty of threads dealing with similar types of boards but I think everyone is just a little smarter and has practices more with the big boy ucontrollers. So is it even feasible to use this with the BS2pe? How do I use it? I'm confused about the whole DATA thing and what to do during clockcycles and how?. I heard someone's thread mention 50MHz which sadly the BS2 doesn't touch. Would I have more luck with PropBasic since I don't know assembler yet?

Thanks

Take a look at the shiftout and shiftin commands. Those look like what you need to use.

That's a great value in an assembled LED array, just 3.12 cents per LED. Please let us know how you tame it!
