Barnes & Noble Nook Color: Hands On
On Tuesday, Barnes & Noble took its largest leap yet in the e-book reader market, releasing the first color e-book reader from a major brand. Other brands like Literati and Pandigital have released color devices in recent months, but Barnes & Noble appears to be the first to have done it really well.
The Nook Color is dominated by a 7-inch, 1024-by-600 LCD screen (made by LG) with 16 million colors, with a black bezel around it. It weighs less than a pound, and appeared to my eye to be smaller in every dimension than the iPad. It runs Android 2.1, has built-in Wi-Fi (but no 3G), and there's 8GB of storage on hand plus a microSD slot for adding more memory. Battery life is rated at eight hours (unfortunate, compared to the weeks-long life of E Ink screens). It will cost $249, and be available on November 19 at Best Buy, Walmart, Books a Million, and online.

They should be great for viewing Parallax PDF Files.

Thanks for the link. I have Nook and I love it, but I think I'll be jumping ship when the NookColor is available.
A full touch screen is what sold me. The Nook has a small color touch screen at the bottom, but I still find myself trying to use the big display as a touch screen.
The battery life is a bummer, but it's something I can live with.

I just need something for PDF files but now that the colour unit is available I'm thinking about colour. I'm not sure I really need colour yet though.
