There's little activity in the Hydra forum, and it's all Propeller-related anyway.

    Phil,
    From the thread http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?t=125367

    Raffy,

    I agree. I'm about to suggest a consolidation of PropScope and Hydra into Propeller.

    I do not know if there has been any more posted on the matter.

    Phil,

    I agree with your conclusion.

    We'll leave PropScope in its own forum since we're about to release a book and kit around that hardware.

    I'll summon the Forum Admins.

    Thanks,

    Ken Gracey

    @Ken,

    I figured that the topic of merging of the Hydra forum would come up again.

    Is there even a possiblity that the "Projects Master List" sticky thread (http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?t=108626) could be maintained in the Propeller forum at least until there is a better option for handling the content?

    [Edit:]
    It seem a shame that all of these projects would loose their visibility so close to the release of the C3 product. There would be quite a few projects posted that would demo well on that platform.

    I've left the Stickys as they are for now, the Hydra and Propeller forums are now as one.

    @Bump,

    You may want to change the title of the "sticky" to something like "Hydra Project Master list [archived]" or similar, otherwise, it may be mis-interpreted as a replacement for the projects sub-forum.

    Ah good point, yes I shall rename it; there are also a lot of stickies in the propeller chip forum now, but I guess that's fine.

    Thanks, all! It was the addition of the EETimes forum that aroused my interest in reducing the front-page pile-up, and which led to my suggestion. I hadn't considered the consequences on the Prop forum from the additional stickies, though. Are there any inclinations/plans to consolidate them eventually?

    One option would be to free the stickies themselves but include a sticky table of contents with links to them.

    Thanks,
    -Phil

    This was a good "move forward" step for the Propeller.

    The Hydra is an important milestone with the Propeller, as it gave us a way to get started when there was very little hardware information and options available. Many bought the Hydra to jump straight into propeller programming, gaming and otherwise. Some of us found ways to replicate some of the important features of the Hydra allowing us to learn about the hardware capabilities of the Propeller.

    Andre did a FANTASTIC job of trailblazing the Propeller with that board and should forever be listed as a Propeller hero as a result. He is about to do it again with the release of the C3, and hopefully is starting to think about the C4 using the Propeller 2 designs, which Parallax would be wise to make him privy to. (I'm betting they already have. :) )

    Personally, I'm looking forward to some serious Propeller coding with the advent of the C3 and the coming snow which always slows my life down a little allowing me to learn and relax. (Something which is VERY overdue in my life lately.)
