BS2 as USB Master

Newbee here wondering if the BS2 can be used as a USB master. I only need to send a simple string to a USB slave device. I do not need to receive anything from the slave device. Suggestions?

    No. A BS2 cannot be used as a USB master or a USB slave. It just isn't anywhere near fast enough. You can attach a Parallax Memory Stick Datalogger to a Stamp and the Datalogger can act as a USB host for many types of USB devices. You can also get a Vinculum VDrive2 or VMusic2 to do the same things. A Propeller can also serve as a USB host.
