Propeller Sticker on the Chip

Hey there,

Is there any stickers which contains the pin labels where I can paste it on the chip itself so that I know which location and function of each pin?

I can't seem to find the template in the webpage or in the forums also, or I didn't search it thoroughly.

How to get around to printing these stickers myself too? :)

Thanks.

There was a black backgound, white writing one on the BOM of one of the Parallax boards that I copied and fortunately printed off multiples onto an A4 sheet. I have just looked back for it an I fear that it was on the failed hard drive ( no back up ). There was an inverted one a while back (a year or so??).

Be carefull on the final print dimensions, 1% error, and a bit of an angle of view, (yes I know) and an error could be made.

PS Just thinking, I presume you meen the 40 pin DIP sort. If you have a scanner then both sorts are in the Prop's datasheet.

    Thanks for the information.

However, from the DIP40 chip sticker "Propeller Training Kit", it seems that there is A0 to A31 printed on the sticker instead of just pin numbers, and with a black background. I remembered seeing it in the forum but I didn't manage to bookmark it.

For the printing, I'm not sure I could even use an inkjet printer, and then print it on a sticker paper, cut it and paste it directly on the chip. Anyone done that at home before? :D

    Thanks.

Anther thought, I laminate the sticker with a strip of Sellotape etc, and Prit-Stik'et it onto the chip.

Beware the added heat insulation, if you intend on pushing the Prop's loadings.

    John,

I've got some polyester stickers like what you're looking for, left over from the original PropSTICK. Email me your mailing address, and I'll send you some.

I can't find them by searching on my blackberry, but I posted some pics of two versions that I make from time to time. I make them with a Zebra thermal transfer printer at 600dpi. I made some on paper labels and some on polyester. On the polyester, I did both black text on white and white text on black by printing inverse. I gave a bunch to Nick at Gadget Gangster and he throws them into orders here and there. I'll be making some more soon. Once I get to my computer I can track down my old post with the pics.

    John,

Now that Phil has put up the exact artwork I remembered, you should be ok. I am slightly confused that you want something with Pin1, Pin2, ...

This will give you the pin numbers, without counting, but the real stickers give the pin titles as in the software. Pin1 (real) is P0 etc and it gets even worst when you get to Pin13 (real) which is P8 software wise ...

It also reminds you that the power pins are that way around, and both need powering/decoupling.

As you can see that link leads to my thread about printing propeller labels. I recently checked on the price of one sticker at Parallax and the cost is still around a dollar each. At that cost, I prefer to print a page or two of labels and that lasts a long time, even for multiple prop projects. I affix the labels with rolled scotch tape so they can be removed after the prop chips are in place on the circuit board and everything is working correctly.

I thought that Parallax had admitted that to put them onto the stock would be very expensive, yet they did have a stock number a long time ago.

It was sort of checked, just in case copyright was a problem.

I've got an email from Lauren with the stock number you can mention to have the stickers added to your order. Last week I posted a dip-40 custom library symbol for ExpressPCB that when printed out can be cut out with scissors and affixed with double sided tape. I was surprised to find 1/2" on the cad screen was also 1/2" coming out of my HP printer. If you tell Parallax you want some at order time they will ship them at 50 cents each. Limit 20.

Back when the Propeller first came out, I got a slew of them, I believe from The Wolf Den. Nice, sweet, clear and concise. White with black letters. Pin numbers.
