and I was picking up a overpriced Headphone splitter.

I look at the clearince section and there is a lenmar 2.6 Ah 9V Li-Ion pack for DVD players $9.99 from $60 !!! I was like WHOOHOO!
so I got the last one they had .

Part is is" DVDU923 "

the input is 12V DC 1 A and the output is 9 V A ??

Score! These are quite elusive; sam_sam_sam posted about these at http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?t=123403 and I found just one after checking several stores in LA. Discontinued and no online sales, they are hit-or-miss if you can find them in stores. Many clerks have never seen these...

I Know exactly what I am doing with mine :) its going on the heat suit . to run the fan only mode and for now untill I install the TEC module on the helmet later this next week .( then its the 7.2V pack )

I would run the entire TEC off it but I dont feel good sucking 40W from a pack that small..

    full of "Li-Ion bombs " ..

I scored one of these two weeks ago for the $9.95 price. Customer return. Probably didn't know you had to push the button to show the current charge. Had it apart within 15 minutes and added a permanent 6' cord with the proper Demo Board plug. They last a long time! Worth scouting for.

It will not allow you pull more than about 1.5 amp I tried it a few time shorting the power wires together tripped over current protection circuit and there is no spark when you do this

I do not think that you have have worry about this

I found that is very easy to trip the over current protection circuit if this happen just put the charger back on and it will reset and you have power again

One note if you take it apart like I did and put (smaller type batteries that I also bought at Radio Shack for $00.47 each I had about 20 of the and use four of them in each one of the power units )
in to it be very care full pulling on the metal tabs off the battery not to pull the wire of the power board it a little hard to get the screws off the board to get to the back of it

Do not get the idea that you do not need to work on the back side of the board there some traces very close to each other and there is not enough space to pull the broken wire out of the board I tried this on four of so far

And yes they have some very good batteries in them I use 10 of them in a Ryobi 18 volt power tool battery pack
it work as well as the ones that came with it to begin with it

    I hope this helps

I went to one and they had none, I went to another and they had none but one of the guys checked other stores' inventories and found one nearby with three. So, I drove down there, 8-9 mi., and both the oiks were oblivious (they're oiks), but there they were. It's hard to believe: all this for less than $5, and with all the furore - I got all three.

[They have Progresso soup for $1, Spam for $1.88, and ChefBoyArdee for 88¢, next door. It's like the country's on the verge of a national "fire sale" or something.]
