Temporarily operating Propellers without EEPROM

Hello there,
I just got my Propellers shipped to my house today, and however, I forgot to buy the EEPROMs.
Right now I need to test it, but could I use all the eight cogs and run normally without the EEPROMs first? I heard that I could run the program code on the 32KB RAM when it is powered. The manual said that "If no EEPROM was detected, the boot loader stops, Cog 0 is terminated, the Propeller chip goes into shutdown mode, and all I/O pins are set to inputs", so I do not know which one is correct.
Thank for the help.

Thanks for the help. I will try this tonight as I have some business to tend to first.
