What to choose

i need to make a wireless robot for a project. i will be controlling it from my laptop(vista). what is the best choice of wireless device? also, i am using the brushless dc motor and wheel kit used in the sting ray robot. how do i power the motors with the 6 battery pack, and not over power the wireless device. and if it helps, the robot i am making will be used both out and inside, and i want as long a range as possible.

I recommend the Series 1 XBee modules for this project. You can use the 3.3v header on the Stingray MSR1 board to power the XBee modules. Here is a link for the XBee modules:

You will be happiest if you use the Series 1 XBees. They're more expensive than some cheapie modules you can get, but those cheapie modules probably will just waste your time, and you won't get your project done. With the XBees you know they'll work, you'll learn about an important technology, and you can get useful sample code and expert help.

The motors that the Stingray uses are not brushless.
