They're great for when you need to store and release large amounts of energy quickly. But as a long-term power source, their meager (given their large size) 1100 mAh capacity and high self-discharge rate render them inferior to batteries. Plus, as capacitors, they don't have a flat voltage-vs-time discharge curve.

Several years back I tried to find large caps because I wanted to build a DIY capacitive discharge welder to make my own battery packs. I did not know how to find a supplier at the time. I still have the link for the instructions but since that time I became a Propellerhead.

How do you calculate mAH from Farads?

A little tidbit from the datasheet, see the info below, the highlight is from the 3000 farad. And even better, it has a short- circuit rating of 9,300 amps. If you don't know what you are doing with these, you might want to think again before purchasing any.
They also have a one million cycle life, these could be near the end.
