Can a thread be deleted?

I did a search of the 'support for using this forum' but this is the only thread I could find - http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?t=124728

Is it true if you start a new thread you can't delete it after? I've been able to delete particular posts after the first but can't delete the thread.

    The forums are current configured to allow members to delete their own posts but not any threads they create. Thus, if a thread has posts from multiple members, their posts cannot be sent off into the ether unless they delete them or a moderator steps in and deletes the thread.
