Hey everyone!

I've been away for a little while, out on medical leave due to some issues with Type II Diabetes...however now that I am back I've been putting up some new episodes of Savage Circuits TV and will start getting some new projects up as well.

We're currently taking a poll on a monthly member chat room meeting that will probably happen the first Friday of every month. If you're interested, please stop by and take the poll and let us know. Membership has dropped off during the time I was out sick and I would like to see things pick up again. The software should look familiar as we're running vBulletin as well. Anyone interested in electronics and/or microcontrollers is invited to Savage Circuits.

    ...one of many that wondered where you've been.

    Sorry to hear - but glad things are apparently on the mend.

    Chris,

    'Good to have you back! I really enjoy your videos. You have a very natural "camera presence" that I know from my own less comfortable video experience is impossible to fake. :)

    @davejames - It's nice to know I've been missed! <blush>

    @Phil Pilgrim - Phil, I used to be so much more natural, less fidgety, etc. And I had more fun editing and put more into it. This is evident is some of the many videos members don't see, such as the videograms my wife and I used to send to my family a few years ago. Sadly as life got busy I had less time to put into it. I am trying to get back to it though and maybe that's what shows. I used to be able to say exactly what I meant in one shot. Now you have no idea how many takes I do. =) It occurs to me that even though I make mistakes early on, I am usually more relaxed then, so as I do more takes I am noticably more distracted, but the viewers don't see that. Thanks for the positive feedback though! I love to share my projects and experiences. If it helps just one person realize their goals or motivates them to at least try then I have accomplished something.

    @eod_punk - You're right. The Parallax Forums have grown especially with the new software, however in my absence I have seen a dramatic decline in members on Savage Circuits and especially active members. The odd thing is that the site is what it is because of what many people asked me for when I didn't offer it. This includes a Workbench/Workspace gallery, the ability to comment on and rate projects and a place for in-progress projects that would not get dilluted by thousands of threads with support questions.

    One thing members complained about here in the past was that their projects were lost in the myriad of support questions. Several ideas were tried including sticky project index pages and even a Completed Projects forums, but due to the support nature of these forums you can't help but get user who don't know where/how to post and some posts inevitably get lost. We now have a working search feature, however if you don't know something exists you don't typically search for it.

    That said, anyone is welcome to stop over and check things out. The more members that participate the better things will get, and while we do help on questions, Savage Circuits is not a product support forum per se, so the project posts aren't lost in the shuffle.

    Speaking of which, I just realized I forgot to post the monthly prize gievaway! I better get that up at lunch time before my current members lynch me! ;)

    Chris - I tried to post a demo on your forum today under Propeller Powered and it says I don't have permission.

    Ratronic,

    I see you've posted once before, so the only thing I can think of is that you weren't signed in at that moment. The cookie system on vBulletin means if you take a while on a post, it times out. I have been trying to find a solution to that problem, but as of yet have fallen victim to it myself. One thing you can do is post some of the message and save it, then edit the message to add more. If it takes more than about 10 or 15 minutes I think it times out. That can go by quick when you're typing and trying to insert pictures and such.

    Interestingly, when I looked you up on the forums, I noticed an R. Rat as well as Ratronic.

    Thanks Chris for the quick response. My user name there is ratronic also. It let me leave a private message to Oldbit collector about this - But maybe I screwed up! I'll go give it another shot.

    The Propeller Powered board doesn't require special access. The only board that does is, "The Fellowship of the Travelling Junk Box". You should be able to post a message to the Propeller Powered board as long as you're signed in.

    If you continue to have issues posting please let me know. Jeff hasn't been on since August 30th, so not sure how long before he gets your message. Take care.
