How does a GPS determine distance between 2 waypoints?

    You can also obtain good results with easier math.
    It depends on your need, and the distance between the points. I use cartesian planar projection, and for the usual navigation needs it is more than enough.
    I started writing a page on the propeller wikispace, but the page is only half written.
