Historically speaking, one particular group of Chinese went into battle wearing armor made from paper and it protected against high speed arrows traveling in excess of 135 mph. Paper armor was more effective than metal due to its light weight and protective capabilities. Maybe you 'can' step on a cardboard robot and it will continue unharmed. It's all about how the cardboard is made. However, this robot is not cardboard, it's a clever artistic rendition.
