So who will be reading this forum?

Even though the forum top page now scrolls off the bottom of my screen, I think this particular forum is a good idea, so long as the appropriate people at Parallax read it regularly and actively respond to it.. For example, will Software Dev be checking in frequently for suggestions about the Prop Tool or BASIC Stamp editor? Will Sales be looking for comments about overseas shipping issues? Will Web Dev keep an eye out here to respond to website suggestions? This has to be a group effort across the board among Parallax personnel. If not, or if they haven't been alerted to it or don't have time to keep checking here, there's no point in offering the opportunity to comment.

I do hope this forum lives up to its potential. It's a good idea that deserves everyone's active support. :)

The new forum is ok for me, but I have yet to receive a response to any PM.

    Is the messaging system working?

I've discovered that there are settings which allow people to PM you but that don't provide any kind of alert when that happens. For example, I was sent a PM some two weeks ago, and I discovered it recently only by accident, since I don't have PMing enabled. So patience is still called for as the kinks get worked out. If you've PMed someone without a response, it may be that they just don't know about it. Or you may have received a response but haven't been alerted. Check your inbox.

I wouldn't trust Web Dev, they're an odd bunch.
I mean, yes! We'll keep an eye on it.

    Phil,

As a reminder to our whole team at Parallax I have pointed them to this new forum and asked that we proactively reply to suggestions posed by our customers. If you feel we are falling short of that duty in the near future please let us know by whatever method you feel is most appropriate (e-mail, phone call, forum post).

Every person in Parallax has decision-making authority and autonomy to act on their own. This will certainly help us address suggestions.

Some suggestions will take us longer to address, but we can act immediately on others. For example, the IDE requests which have been traditionally handled by a single person may best be accomplished by the addition of more staff or open-sourcing the software - not a quick fix like a web cross-link mix-up. However, with a more informative feedback loop from our customers/friends/consultants/suppliers we will at least be able to move specific requests higher on our radar.

We will be highly responsive and I look forward to showing you.

Thanks, Ken. It's good to hear that everyone is on board -- even Web Dev! :) I'm sure we all look forward to seeing this new "broadband interface" to Parallax in action.
