Power Meter using Basic Stamp

has anyone worked on a power meter using basic stamp. I'm planning on using the MCP3909 with this micro

    Could you be more specific in your needs? What power? How much? How do you plan to connect to the power? You know, things like that.

    This prolly isnt my area so much, but if you used enough resistors to keep the voltage at a low enough, e.g. safe for the stamp, you could jus read the states of the pins. When enough voltage is present it would pass through the resistor and cause an 'on' state on the pin. This type of setup would only be usable for voltages around the range of 0.5-8 volts DC.

    For voltage higher then 7.5-9 VDC, you may to wish to use op amps to spare your stamp from being at the mercy of the voltage. Op amps could, if i'm correct, help you isolate the stamp while using resistors from the output of the op amps so that you can keep a target input of 3 VDC to the stamp.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is a good, not best, way to tackle this project.
