Something unusual for a Parallax product

Hello!
This site discusses an interesting application for XML,
http://www.eeml.org/ so far the only real world (By Internet standards) is this site, http://www.pachube.com/ .

So far the only hardware application outside of the PC, is the A**** entity. I am convinced that the Propeller hardware platform is a much better design platform if only that it has several processors on it. And naturally the good people at Parallax spent a long while internally (probably) testing the raw design until it complained, before we had the chance.

But my problem is the simple one of having no place marked begin here.

It isn't one of not really knowing how the Prop platform works, I'm not worried about that. It's one of not knowing how to go about creating a proper TC/IP stack that can handle streaming the XML out to the Internet, and, ah, managing the sensors, and actuators for that.

And naturally all of you know from earlier posts that I understand electronics, both basic and advanced, and probably six or seven levels above that...... But this is a different situation and a special one at that.

And I thought I would describe all of this. I chose the sandbox because, well, I believe it does require the Parallax family of devices to make a point, but, not necessarily which one. Please pardon my speech.

    How about the YBox2?

    Here and here and here.

It's also easy to add an SD card for oodles of storage courtesy of either Rokicki's FSRW 2.6 or Kye's FAT file system.

I've run FemtoBasic over a Telnet connection (for the "console") to a YBox2.

    Hello!
Yes! That will work. It's the first really out of this world project I've seen from LadyADA, outside of her solarcell based LiPO charger series. But where did you find FemtoBASIC for the system? Is it an example of Tiny BASIC?

    Very, very nice.
The funny thing is that some people just love to put all their projects in an Altoids box, but that's okay.

It really seems to be a great kit.

    Hello!
They are perfect, because they are made from the same metal alloy that larger metal containers are. Also those are more expensive.

Pachube looks fascinating. Ybox also looks fascinating. I'm playing around with networking propellers via wireless, and somewhere in that mesh there is going to need to be a connection to the internet. I can probably contribute some more but I need to do some reading first. Thanks for the links!
