Microcontroller related SPAM?!?!? Anyone else getting this???

I just checked my email inbox to find that I had a message from a robotics/microcontroller company that was clearly spam mail, as it had no subscription info and I had never heard of the site.
I can take spam from places that sell useless junk or are trying to scam you, but this is hitting a little close to home.

Seeing as I have my email public on this forum, and the subject was so closely related to my interests, has anyone else gotten this???

Nope, but then I use webmail and Yahoo filters out a lot of cruft. If you do a fair amount of business with online retailers it's not unusual for them to sell mailing lists to each other and as long as the topic is relevant to your interests, it's generally considered directed marketing rather than spam (which is just "send it to everybody whether they're interested or not because it's so cheap to do so).

Nothing here, just adds for Viagra. I'd trade you spam any day, sometimes I have to go through my spam box and I'd rather see microcontroller adds rather than something supposedly called "advertising" that makes me want to puke on the screen.

    Micro,

Consider yourself lucky. In addition to the raft of Viagra-type ads that SpamAssassin seems oblivious to, I've been "treated" lately to a whole slew of emails with Zip attachments having all sorts of bogus enticements to open them. I can only assume that there must a virus or trojan going around that relies on a Zip security exploit.
