Should I scrap/refurbish iPod (old version)

Much like the other item I'm thinking about scrapping, I also inherited this iPod Nano

It's old and the battery is stuffed. (IIRC its something like a version 1 - its a massive 2G)

Does anyone know if there are any tasty refurbishment bits inside?

The touch wheel and screen look interesting, but they are probably _really_ hard to connect too.

Perhaps most useful as a paperweight?

Hey Pacman, if you inherit an Intel Mac that you can't figure out what to do with, let me know. :)

You would be surprised at some of the stuff I _have_ inherited/been gifted over the years. Though only 2 Macs that I can remember...

Pacman, there are hacker web sites for these. You can restore new life with a battery and then interface to the switches with a stamp or prop. These are tiny computers, with lots of interesting parts. Just use it as a tiny computer and do some amazing things:

I wouldn't use it as a paper weight. It doesn't weigh much.

I heard that we were evolving towards a paperless society, thus obviating the need for paperweights.

People have talked about this for ages. One of the companies has their employees do the work and create paper-less reports, analysis, record keeping, and so on, in thousands of pages saved in electronic files. When all the work in completed, they print out all the pages..
