Ignore Thread Options???

Priority: Barely above "ignore forever", and if not a "standard feature" - drop the request.

Is there a "ignore this thread" optoin available? I found "ignore user", but nothing in the thread menus or FAQ about ignoring a thread.

The purpose would be to not have a given thread(s) cause a forum to appear to have new activity worthy of checking out when the only activity was on threads one didn't care about (like "reporting anti-cat posts" as an example).

Heck, I subscribed to that one! :)

All kidding aside, "Mark This Forum Read" under "Forum Tools" is your friend here. I use it all the time after I've scanned for and read the stuff that interests me and then refreshed the page once. Even if you could ignore a thread, it would still appear in the lineup, interspersed with threads marked as unread, thus mostly negating any real benefit.

Yup, use the "mark read" regularly. I don't really expect this feature to be present, but it's a nice pipe dream to not have a forum triggered for reading by one post to a thread you don't care about. Not a big deal, and for that matter, going into a forum has also reminded me about other threads I wanted to contemplate further.

At any rate, hence the priority tag...
