Or the fact that none of the knobs, dials, or switches are actually connected to anything.
Oh, they're connected to "something", it's just that the labels and calibrations don't necessarily mean anything. Even if you find a dial that you can turn and get a favorable response, it doesn't mean that continued adjustment in the same direction will continue with favorable results, or that the same settings and/or actions will yield the same results the next time you approach the subject.
Yes, this is a male-dominated forum, but we do have female members, so sexist banter needs to be kept in check. Besides, you neglected to mention that, although the top panel looks simple, it does have one singular idiosyncrasy. Even when the switch is not up, the light is almost always on.
In my defense, permit me to say that I never stated to which box(es) the rabbit ear-of-corn antenna was connected.
My defense will be that I've been teaching psychology at a women's college for the last 23 years, which either earns me a pass, or could be taken as a sign that I know where the limit is (pick whichever excuse works best for you).
Besides, I've been reading women's psychology papers for all that time - I've seen the inner workings.
This pic was not intended to be a sexist statement, just light-hearted humor.
In my 29 years of information systems experience, some of the most talented and competent programmers were women. I'm sure the same is true in engineering, electronics, etc, etc...
I would hardly call "Observations" sexist banter.... AND like Ron said, i have known a few Women in the industry(My own grandma, for instance)....AND besides, it is just a little bit of fun, i wouldn't mind if a woman was staying stuff about guys. AND i have only seen 2-3 possible women on the forum..
Personally - I'm a fan of the purple dial that looks like the symbol for Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Does that mean that we women have dormant mutant powers that can be harnessed when the dial is turned to exactly the right position?
