How to get out of "threaded" "display mode" ?

Seems I made a mistake and tried out "threaded" mode and now every post I look at starts in "threaded" mode.

There's a setting in "user CP" that looks like it's supposed to set the default, but it doesn't have any effect...

What am I doing wrong here?

Rayman, When I checked out the threaded mode, I had the same problem trying to turn it off. After fiddling with it for awhile I was able to get it back to linear mode.

For me I thought it was that I would use "Back" key after I made the change and that put be back to page that I had viewed as Threaded. I suspected that this caused the mode to flip back to threaded. I was able to fix the issue by going the userCP page, making the change and then exiting and re-entering the forum.

It could be something else as I did not repeat to prove my theory. regardless, I would suggest continuing to try.

I'm still stuck. User CP still says linear even though every post I look shows up threaded...

Just above top post, pull down menu "Display Modes"

Edit: well that didn't work... inline image issue.

Better .. changed from bmp to jpg image.

Nothing to see here - did not apply to the situation.

Phil suggested clearing cookies for a different issue. This is always a good idea with problems of this nature.

Yes, we have seen several cases now where cookies that were in place before we made the last database change didn't get deleted like they should have.

Ok, I found the forum's cookie and deleted it and now it's all better...

In IE8 click on Tools->Internet Options and then on the General tab click on Browsing history->Settings. Then, click "View files" and look for cookie:username@forums.parallax.com/ where username is your login name. Delete that file and you're all better...
