Propellerpowered has a new feature!

An online catalog of Propeller games! Including links to the "new forum" thread locations, screenshots, download links, and video links (when posted).

http://www.propellerpowered.com/propellergaming/

Other sections will be brought online to feature amazing video, sound, and software objects in the near future.

Propellerpowered thread links have been fixed to point to the new forums.

So here's motivation for you game programmers to get started on that project you've been considering, or finish that project that I've just linked to. ;)

    Very nice work Jeff!

    We've needed an index like this, with working links, screenshots etc.

    Awesome job! I like the stars - I would argue that loadrunner deserves stars, but I respect your modesty.

    I think games & graphics go a long towards getting people excited about the Propeller, and a nice repository of games helps people to easily find them.

    @OBC,
    The list looks great...except in IE8 (the screenshots end up not lining up correctly with the text--the further down the page you go, the more the images 'creep'). Looks fine in FireFox though. Great work overall! I know that probably does (and will) represent countless hours of work.

    No stars on Spintris or Battlez0ned?

    WOW ! Great work Jeff.

    I hadn't realised there were so many games running on the prop. I am not into games. However, this is a great way to get others interested as most people just love games :D

    Looks great in IE8 for me ( Winblows ), but not on Safari or FireFox for ( Mac )

    Nice work OBC :D great resource, having them all in one place including screenshots etc. well done.

    Edit: also OBC you're sig link to propellerPowered.com doesn't work.

    @Nick,

    Loadrunner was my first game attempt. The code is extremely messy. Perhaps after a re-write and the addition of a couple more baddies.. :) It desperately needs to be redone, since I understand it's going to get included in someone's project now. It's on my to-do list somewhere.

    @Jim,

    Thanks! Link fixed! What could we bribe you with to get you to release your code to Frogger and finish that PropGFX lite demo binary?

    Edit: I don't write anything for IE.

    I looked at the page with Safari and the screenshots don't line up with the descriptions.

    There's a lot of superfluous HTML in the file. You could easily reduce the file size 80-90% by cleaning up stuff like
    <div><font color="#FFFFFF" face="Trebuchet MS"><BR></font></div>

    You didn't use a Microsoft product to create the web page, did you? ;)

    Yes, I noticed the same problem when viewing the page with the latest versions of Firefox 3.6.x and Camino 2.0.x. The screenshot of Christmas Catch is just a black square, and the screenshots appear to be about 20% too big which accounts for the progressive offset.

    Nice page, OBC.

    I think it would be useful to have another page (linked to from this one) that explains the required hardware configurations in a little more detail. It could have stuff like an explanation of what a demo board is (maybe just a link to it) and also indicate what the connections for keyboards, controllers, etc. are (which pins they connect to, etc.).

    I know that there are many people around here who know this stuff already, but I think games are a good way to attract new people and it would be helpful to them to have more information for configuring their hardware (since there are many possibilities).

    The page could grow with additional information showing how to accomplish the same hardware configurations using proto boards, gadget gangster boards, breadboards, etc.

    Nice work OBC!

    Any chance of putting this out in a format which can be filtered (or maybe sorted), so that we can easily see what we can use (i.e. I have a Prop Demo, what can I run?)

    How about some slightly altered version for some of the common board designs?

    As time permits I'll work on adding these features.

    In the meantime, this guide should help many with game configurations.
    (It's also on my list of things to update.)

    Looks good! The only thing is like with Baggers, I have Firefox on Linux and the pictures get out of sync with the text and doesn't line up as you go down the page.

    The more I play with the design, the more I'm thinking that it might work much better if I did it with a PERL script. It's been too long since I've written perl, but I may have to dig out my code library and make the entries read from a datafile using TABLES.

    It would be nice to have a game play video of every game in the list. :)
    Anyway, great initiative OBC !

    Thank you Ahle2.

    Propellerpowered upgrades have been placed on hold for the moment, but sometime within a week or two after the expo, I'll either convert the software pages over to PERL. This will make the site easy to expand, and should fix all of the image alignment.

    So many Propeller projects and so little time... :)

    I love the list, but I have a request :)

    Could you indicate "# cogs used" in another column?

    Between debugging the new boards and VMCOG, I'm working on getting DodgyKong (and later the other games) running on PropCade; only thing left to do is to get the PropCade joystick driver integrated.

    Problem: It needs a cog, as Spin based SPI violates the timing spec of the MCP23S17.

    Also the list shows it as demo board compatible, but it was totally hard wired for Hydra...

    Thanks!

    p.s.

    I am looking forward to getting your LodeRunning running on PropCade - that used to be one of my all time favorites!

    One thing you can do to fix the image alignment problem is to use tables so that the image and text will be on the same row. I have my page setup like that and it works great!

    Another idea I have is when you click on the image it will load up a larger image to see.
