Unseen posts: mental gearshift required

I would be nicer if the visual elements for indicating unseen posts were consistent across the forum. On the home page, these are indicated by an icon in the left-hand column. In each forum, they're indicated by boldfaced thread titles. The problem with this is that on the homepage, the forum names are also boldfaced. Even though I know better, I'm constantly clicking on these, looking for new threads, when there aren't any. As a minimal solution, it would be better if the forum names on the home page did not appear in boldface. Or perhaps the indication in the individual forums could be a change in font color to orange to match the icon change on the homepage.

Does it matter? We are all "Senior Members" (see below the user name) and our eye sight won't last much longer. Soon, everything will be "unseen posts".. :cool:

I would prefer that there was no boldface to indicate new posts. Rather just use the existing icons to indicate that there is something new.

Also it would be good if when I visited a forum that it would clear the main forum menu of the new posts icon. I generally do not read every new post, so to get the main forum to clear the new post indication I have to use the drop down menu to mark the forum as read.

The sticky threads should either be boldfaced, separated or have a different background shade.

I'll ask the team that is working on the new skins to look at this. Let's find out what is possible and then we can devise a workable scheme of visual cues.
