Thread titles: the good, the bad, the ugly

A couple comments regarding thread titles:
Good: Titles are now required! Yay! No more guessing what an untitled thread is about or -- lately -- simply not caring.
Bad: I had titled a thread and submitted it but then decided the title was not explicit enough, so I edited it. The edited title appears when the thread is opened, but the original title remains in the thread list (where the edited title would do the most good).
Ugly: 'Just kidding about ugly.

Automatically Quote Post / Thread Title
Setting this to 'Yes' will automatically fill the title field of new posts with either the thread or the parent post title, prefixed by 'Re: '.
I'm not sure if this impacting the situation you describe.

After posting, I edited the title to read, "D Day+1 - Triage: ER for Broken Posts", which now appears with the post proper. But if you scan down the list of posts in this forum (now on page two), you will see that the post is listed with its original title, not the edited version.
