To write a string into the program EEPROM?

I thought there was a command to write "My Program REV 1" into the actual code, but I can't seem to find it...

You can insert fixed strings into a DAT section like this:

DAT
 
myString byte "My Program REV 1",0

Are you wanting to "write" the string at compile time? if so, then string() is what you are looking for. at run time, check out my EEPROM storage solution in my signature it does integers, stacks, strings, whatever you want. it handles storage locations and bridging sectors.
