Does anyone know if David Ryan is planning on selling just the circuit board or a complete kit of parts for this project?

    Hi Guys,

I have read through the DAQPAC report a bunch of times and I'd love to have a few of these built, It's a little out of my league to build being a 4-layer board,
any chance someone has managed to find the Gerber files related to this so i can have a few made?

I'd try myself but I believe it's a bit ambitious for a DIY with limited experiance.

If there's anyone out there who's willing to share a contact for getting them made please let me know.
My other question is: Is it possible to add additional relay outputs to the 3 that has been designed into it?

I am hoping to modify the code so i can use this as a body control unit, driving my drag car's water pumps, fuel pumps, thermo fans, Nitrous solenoids, and run my ignition coil power supply, so i can program up shutdown's, such as remove the power from ignition coil if i get a lean condition or a temp spike.

Any help is greatly appriciated, and i know it may be a bit much to ask from a 1st time poster, but i figured it was worth a try,
thanks in advance, please dont hesitate to ask if you need clarification on what i am requesting.

Two of the layers are ground and power planes so the board would not be much more complicated than a two layer board, but will be a bit more costly. If the gerber files could be found and were open source the boards could be made, if not a board could be laid out from the schematics, pictures, and project report.

There are 3 unused pins on the prop and 3 pins already in use for the relays so adding more relay outputs is possible. Since the relays would most likely need an external board and drivers in any case using the pins to control a shift register/relay driver chip would allow a lot of expandability.

I have never been able to find the Eagle files or the Gerbers, but as kwinn said you can probably lay the board out from the PDF:

    http://www.learn.parallax.com/sites/default/files/inspiration/792/dl/DAQPac-Full-Report.pdf

as it shows a clear layout, and has a full Bill of Materials.

Unfortunately David Ryan has not been on these forums for a few years.

    BTW. Welcome to the forums!

Hi Guys, thanks for the replies,

and sorry for the delays in mine, i dont have the internet at home so my replys can be a bit sketchy
Publison, Thanks for the link, i already have a copy of this and have read through it at least a 5 or 6 times, and leafed through the code a bunch of times too

    Kwinn,
I have taken the information down to a couple electronics places and i have only managed to find 1 place willing to try and make the board (and they where a bit reluctant without the gerbers) but they have an insanely large minimum order quantity and they do not populate the boards,I have also sent off to several places in china with no luck.

I'll keep reading up a storm attempting to gain enough knowlage to get me through this,

at the risk of asking for a handout i am more then happy to read through any docs you guys reccomend

    thanks again,

    Regards,

    Daniel
