Yes, the subject is correct nad if you've found your way onto this thread then you'll want this:
ftp://ftp.parallax.com/Hydra%20CD/

Both a copy of the CD and a .zip file of the source found on the Hydra CD are located on our public ftp.
Visit, Download, and Design

    Great offer - thanks.

What's with the "uif" format. How about something that is more compatible with open source utilities. ZIPping an ISO would be a simple solution. UIF files over 300M require purchasing MagicISO - not interested in that!

Very cool! The hydra CD has a ton of great objects, especially the sound generation stuff.

Try http://w-shadow.com/blog/2007/12/30/uif-to-iso-converter/·this may convert the uif to iso. I haven't tried it since I already have the Hydra CD. It is great though that it is being released as open source!

The CD also has some BMP conversion tools and a really nice pdf book written by Andre' on 3D game design (most likely in the .UIF).

    Awesome, thanks!

Just FYI, 7-zip can open the UIF file, so no cash needed. (though it did give me an error on 2 readme.txt files)

I wasn't able to open it with my version of 7-zip (V4.32).· I was able to access it with Daemon Tools.

I wasn't able to copy the file README.TXT in the Hydra folder.· I also couldn't open this file.

    This is great to have!

Hi, i also downloaded it. there is a great program that opens the cd, namely Magicdisk.
You got virtual dvd drives and it supports this format.

Of course it's completly free hop.gif

On the Mac, all you have to do is change the file extension from ".uif" to ".iso" and you'll be able to double-click to mount and open the image.

On Windows XP I used an evaluation version of this program: WinRAR

"WinRAR is a powerful archive manager. It can backup your data and reduce the size of email attachments, decompress RAR, ZIP and other files downloaded from Internet and create new archives in RAR and ZIP file format. You can try WinRAR before buy, its trial version is available in downloads."

    Thanks! for the download jumpin.gif

7zip is da bomb. The integrated windows stuff is more convenient but when that doesn't work, 7zip does the password protected RAR thing and the formats windows doesn't understand thing and it's freeware so it's on all the machines I routinely use to get stuff from the internet because of that.
