P.S. I would really forget wasting time on adding dynamic RAM to a Prop. It will be slow as hell. If you really need/want that kind of space or speed better to use something designed that way. Then use the Props for what they are good at, interfacing with real gadgets.
Honestly, I think all external memory for Propeller SRAM, DRAM, or otherwise falls in this category. Still it is an interesting hobby thing to do and there are some good applications for large temporary storage which is faster than SDCARD, etc....

Just when I start making major progress with a project someone declares it useless :)

The OP hasn't actually said why he needs the extra RAM. If it's just for data storage the XMOS solution should be fine, and will be much faster than a memory interface on the the Propeller, given the 100 MHz I/O speed.

Jazzed. "useless". That's not what I was trying to say. I'm sure there are a ton of applications where a few 100K of RAM or more may be required, where the raw speed is not a big concern and where all the other Prop goodies are a God send. Why not do it. That I guess is the motivation behind ICC, Catalina, the JVM, Zog and all. But see below. Oh and you are right about the hobby thing. I just can't drop it:) These things are a puzzle that needs to be done.

Leon. No Sov has not really pinpointed the actual application, so any advice about it is just based on guess work. But he has mentioned wanting a Giga Hz processor and the idea of DRAM suggests the need for a lot of RAM. Just putting two and two together it looks like a Prop with ext RAM would be a disappointment.

For me, the past is not over yet.
