Problems with Memory stick datalogger.

· I can't get my datalogger to work.
·· In uart mode the chip looks like it is loading. The lights blink red/green, the thumbdrive reads and the stick shows solid red, ready. I·keep getting a non-sync error. I am using the exact wiring diagram from the uart page.
In uart mode, if the drive is not in the program detects this.
· In spi mode, no action on the datalogger at all and I only get "no drive inserted error"
I have flipped the spi-uart jumper on both sides in all 4 combo's no luck.
I have tried all the programs from the library in all compinations. I have·triple checked all wires.
I tried 2 different thumbdrives the smaller is 2gb.
I have been using the sd card with no·problems ·but want to update to usb.
Unfortunately my computer died and I now have a windows 7 machine. I can't tell·how my thumbdrives are formatted but I think they are fat16 since that is what I was using with my old·windows xp machine.
I purchased the datalogger about 2 years ago. It has been sitting in the bag until now.

I use a USB datalogger a lot.· I have two of them (they are for sale) but I've only found a couple of USB drive that will work with them.· I plan to stop use the USB datalogger all together and just use SD cards.· I originally purchased the USB datalogger because the SD card stuff looked to intimidating.· I now find the SD cards are easier to use and almost all cards I've tried work great with the Propeller.· With Kye's new object you can use huge SD cards (I'm using an 8Gig with to problems).
If you already know how to use SD cards I'd suggest continuing with them.
If you still want to use the USB datalogger, try to find other drives to test.· I've found older drives are more likely to work and make sure they aren't larger than 2Gig.
Have you tried reading or writing to the drives after you get the error messages?· One of my USB drives that does work still gives me error messages.

thanx for the input.
