An car ambeded display for a propeller?

Hi all,

I'm looking for a screen to put into my car.

I took a look at this one: https://www.parallax.com/StoreSearchResults/tabid/768/txtSearch/mini/List/0/SortField/4/catpageindex/4/ProductID/337/Default.aspx but it needs a regulated power suply, and I don't know how to make 12V regulated with 12V.

Do I have any other option?

Option 1: Find another display.
Option 2: Find a way to make 12V regulated from 12V.

Any clue? Or can I simply power the screen from the car batterie?

Thanks,

JM

Google "headrest monitors" also "sun visor monitors" and "car backup camera monitor"

Also have a look at in-dash DVD players or in-dash GPS units. Many of them have an input for a composite backup camera signal, or even inputs for an external DVD player. Granted, it would likely be an expensive way to go, but it would integrate nicely with your dash without requiring any additional space.

You can make a 12 regulator that runs off of a car battery (11 to 13.8v)
with an LT1513. We use this device for our battery charger because it
will convert both lower and higher voltages to charge our 9.6V battery.

    Hi all,

Thanks for all you ideas. I found great options on google.

What's the max resolution the propeller can handle? I found some 1440 X 234 screens, will the prop be able to deal with that?

Look like all the screens are taking 12V directly from the car, so I don't think I will try the LT1513 option.

Linux? There is worst, but it's more expensive.
