Very sorry about that txmarsh. In fact, this particular sale was my idea so I take full responsibility for undermining your eBay auction.

Well Ken... I guess this is the universe's way of telling me that I should hang onto the demo board.· I would've only spent the money on other parallax components anyway! smile.gif

The demo board is very handy.
If you value your time at anything at all then if
you grab the demo board just a few times to test
some code then it has paid its way smile.gif

Re Holly "Buy high...sell low"

Reminds me of the question "What is the secret of success in small business?"

Answer - "Start with a large business and let it go."

Yes, the universe says hang onto that demo board.

Not just the Demo board, but it is a whole propeller starter Kit, which includes the Propeller Manual!
I guess it is time to replace the one my son soaked!.

If you wait long enough, the starter kit + "official guide" should go on sale for $79. The new book is worth getting.

What Holly Said re the usefulness of the DB. I have four of them and they were all in use before I ordered a run of custom boards from *cough* someone you all know.

Meanwhile I have passed one on to a coworker who is teaching himself Spin so he can use the Prop as the brains of an underwater ROV he is designing. He asked me about sharing video and control signals and my suggestion was to use an IP camera and Prop with enc28j60 and ethernet umbilical, and he decided to run with it. My cool plan to not be the only programmer around here might actually come to fruition thanks to Parallax LOL.

@txmarsh:

Unless you are actually short of money for food and shelter I cannot imagine any reason to sell a Prop Demo Board for $50.

I mean, what are you going to do with the money?

Around here $50 is about 10 beers. Well, beer is fun and all but a Prop to play with every day is worth a lot more.

heater, where the hell do you live? Around here USD$50 is about 35 beers if the beers are domestic.

Helsinki.

Here you can easily find yourself paying 5 Euros for a 500ml beer. The current exchange rate is:

1 Euro = 1.2921 U.S. dollars.

So 1 beer = 6.46 dollars and 50 dollars is not even 8 beers.

Go to a real dive and you still paying 3.8 euros.

Could be worse though, in Norway you can pretty much double that.

P.S. A DIP Propeller from my local supplier is 13.15 dollars:(

Ah yes, I noticed the six dollar beers when I connected in Amsterdam on my way to Manchester a couple of years ago. Here a draft beer in a bar runs $2 to $4 depending on the seediness of the joint and whether it's happy hour. I was thinking of a six pack from the local grocery store.
