P.S. I eventually figured out that the Spirograph I had was a right-handed one. I don't think they ever imported any left-handed ones into Australia.

As far as I can tell it could not draw spirals.
But then "hypotrochoidograph" or "epitrochoidograph" don't have quite the same ring to them.
