Running Spin on a Mac computer with Virtual PC , questions.
hi,
I have two similar questions:
1-- I have an Spin code running with my PC and I want
to run it on a Mac computer . Do you know it this is possible
just installing the Virtual PC on the Mac ?
2-- I have an Spin application running with Visual BASIC
on my PC and I want to run the application on the Mac.
( Is this possible ? )
Thanks, Joe
PS: I don't know if Virtual PC is best tool for these jobs.

I had a PowerBook at one time and ran Virtual PC on it with Windows SE so I could use the Propeller Tool. It was slow, but did work. I had to inhibit automatic updates because there were too many download errors to the Propeller when Windows Update ran in the background. Using Parallels Desktop or VMWare on an Intel Mac is much faster and I've not had any problems. Still, I normally use the Mac version of BST now for programming and downloading. This is a Propeller Tool compatible development environment that comes in Windows, Mac, and Linux versions and is downloadable from Parallax's download webpage.
A couple things here. VPC is all but a dead issue on the Mac and won't run on at least the last two or three iterations of Mac OSX. I gave up on it back at Panther!
There is no VB on Mac, but there's Real Basic a cross platform suite which is fairly easy to translate to from VB. www.realsoftware.com/realstudio/ .

1) Do not us the Propeller Tool from Parallax Inc. (even if you are on a Windows machine).
2) Use BradC's BST instead. Works like a dream on Linux for me and on the Mac as well.
