Propeller II Sine 2 Sine Wave I/O Cryptographic Function?

edited 2010-07-23 19:13 in General Discussion
I was dreaming about the Prop II.· I don't have one of course and I haven't used the Prop I much but I dreamed that cryptographic functions could be developed using the 2 Sine Wave I/O.· I imagined that the sine wave would have to be copied exactly to copy the input / output functions.· Maybe other people can start thinking and complete the dream...·

It would be much better to put an AES crypto function into the hardware, as is done on another chip.

I was also thinking about these spy radios that escape detection because they are always altering the frequency.· I think we could have a little fun with the Prop even though we aren't spies.

Frequency hopping. Most military radios use it these days, together with a crypto. The hop patterns and crypto keys are changed frequently and programmed into the radios, before an operation. Spread-spectrum techniques are also used, with very weak signals sent on several frequencies and correlated using DSP. I used to work on that stuff.

You just need the right clock to get great crypto on any processor, named or otherwise.
