NES Controller Adapter - Can I use 3.3vdc?

I bought an NES Controller Adapter from parallax and I was wondering if I can power it with +3.3vdc? The board is labeled with +5vdc.

    I'm pretty sure the NES Controllers use a CMOS 4021 8-bit shift register so they should work from 3V to 15V

    Yep, I opened the controller up and indeed it's a 4021. I have had great success with these on the prop in the past so I'm confident it will work. Thanks TonyD!
