Dear Propeller customers,

At the Unofficial Propeller Expo West we sold around $900 in raffle tickets. Parallax agreed to match (and round up) the donation amount.

The raffle was really productive but I think we can raise even more money at these events.

Thank you to everybody who contributed by providing prizes or buying raffle tickets.

Sincerely,

Ken Gracey
Parallax Inc.

    @Ken,

    I know we may be a cynical lot, but do you really think we wouldn't have believed you? smile.gif

    Ross.

    P.S. My friend, Mr A. ("Red") Cross, says to tell you he's still waiting for the cheque to arrive.

    It sets a good precedent... At end of UPEW it's easy to dump a handful of cash into Ken's hand and say,
    "Can you get this mailed out to where it's gotta go?" -- A the end of UPENE we'll both have the task.

    I like systems where there is never a question or doubt. :)

    @RossH: actually, I certainly feel that you'd believe me. But as OBC pointed out, if you were at UPEW you'd see a lot of cash flying around. For example, forum member pjv (Peter) was walking by and casually handed me a $100 bill and said "include this in the Red Cross donation". It was also interesting to see children of our staff selling raffle tickets and carrying around $500 in small denominations. Of course I regularly engage in much larger transactions but I feel a tremendous responsibility when handling other people's cash. I just want them to have confidence in the process since it's a really loose one with no tracking whatsoever.

    I just take the responsibility very seriously. I'm also thankful that we have the ability to attract customers and friends to an event like UPEW, on a weekend no less. Having you leave money behind for others is something many companies could only hope for, but you are doing this quite regularly. Between Katrina, the tsunami and UPE events I imagine you have donated somewhere around $40K though Parallax.

    Just another reason to love Parallax. As if great products, legendary education status, American made stuff and great forums were not good enough. God bless Parallax.

    I think I've finally figured out what's missing from all those other microcontrollers out there - it's the Karma, man. And I don't think even Leon can find a chip with as much Karma as the Prop.

    Awesome, dudes!
