BS2 to Lynxmotion servo controller

·· I just got a deal I couldn't refuse. I have a Lynxmotion 6 axis robot arm along with a Lynxmotion servo controller. It is set up with RS-232. I was wondering if I could run this controller with a BS2 or Prop in the future? They supply their own RS-232 software but just want to run off PBASIC or wireless assist. Has anyone messed with this before ? I did see a serial in on the schematic around the middle left. The board is a SSC - 32 Ver 2.00XE ( V2 ). Thanks in advance.

No, it absolutely can never be done. Can't work. Ever. It's nothing but useless junk. Plus, new studies indicate that robot arms cause cancer and blindness! Get rid of it!

I feel bad for you though. You're a good guy, I want to help you out. I'll give you $50 and take all that old junk off your hands.

Not buying it, huh? Ah well. Good score. Does it work as-is? I saw two of these listed units for sale in SoCal a month ago for a few hundred dollars. Post some pics & videos when you can. I have a medium-sized Hitachi industrial robot arm at home I have to find a good use for. It can't quite diaper the twins as I had hoped... :)

Got it new $225 not assembled. They said around $450 new. Don't think it will carry a 12 oz can but a glass would be nice. Servos I can handle but don't have the money to buy anything for a while until I get this working with or without stamp. Mabe sell it assembled would be easier. Mabe I should try to dump the servo board and go with a parallax one or prop direct. Still shy about starting the Prop up for now. Have a BS2E and a BS2PX I still have yet to master. Already planning the bot design to carry it around. That is the easy part. lol
