UPENE: Raising money for the American Red Cross: How you can help!

Ok gang! UPENE 2010 in Norwalk Ohio is around 50 days away and we need your help!

Like our other UPEs this year, the goal is to raise money for the American Red Cross.
(As you know these funds are vital to reaching disaster victims from the CA fires to Haiti.)

Parallax has not only donated really great items to every expo, but they have MATCHED dollar for dollar
every amount we have raised. We raised nearly $1,000 at UPEW (Matched to $2,000) -- This time it is
really time to raid Ken's wallet. UPENE was the starting point for UPE events, and being so, we have
something to prove!

Here's what you can do to help! Donate quality, unused (or lovingly used) items to the raffle.

Understand that there is big difference between what you bring to the freebie table, and what should go
on the raffle table. Hacked boards, parts, and interesting scavenged items are good examples of what
should go to the freebie table.
A slightly used Propeller demoboard would be a wonderful raffle item.

Items should be Propeller related.

Here's an easy way to tell them apart. Would you buy $5.00 in raffle tickets to win the item?
If so, donate it!

Feel free to use this thread as an announcement point.

I'll get us started by putting in an NEW "Game Programming for the Propeller-Powered HYDRA" book into the mix.

    Jeff,
I will have a good many goodies this year. I'll have to decide between auction or table for each of them.

P.S. A donation box on the freebie table might not be a bad idea either. Some people don't like taking stuff for free, and it will help the cause too.

    @Bill

Generally it needs to be something which could be used with the Propeller. I'll let you decide how loosely this applies. :)

As for shipping items in, contact me by email and I'll get you an address and instructions on how to mark the item.

    Thanks!

I expect that another of the "classic" mini DVD players could be showing up at UPENE - for all of the Scooby Doo fans out there (I think that's what the DVD has on it).

Just a quick bump on this thread! Don't forget to start packing a freebie box! It's time to clean up those shops for the fall!
