How to align DAT with a specific page size boundary?

I'm sure this got asked before, but I can't find it.

Say I want some longs in a DAT section to be 64 byte aligned, or 32, etc... How do I do that?

Do you want them aligned in hub memory or cog memory?

The magic is in the array declaration. the first number is 2^n-1 and the other two numbers are n. You can use it with byte, word or long to any page size you need [noparse]:)[/noparse]

That aligns them in cog memory. I'm not sure that's what he meant, though; hence my request for clarification.

Same principle as for cog memory but then it's bst[noparse][[/noparse]c] only^a. The bold expression is the current hub location ($ equivalent).

Something like this works as well:

  advance   = alignment - 1

^a In the propeller tool you could get away with it when you limit yourself to the top object DAT section and its hardwired $10 offset (@here + $10).

I do this all the time for custom graphics because they need to me aligned to 16 longs...

For example,·my PTP_Paint example does this...
