Prop OSD - Yes Another Propeller OSD question

Hello All,
I am a newbie here with little hardware experience and have just finished reading the old posts on OSD's and the propeller.
The consensus was the Hitt Consulting OSD was the place to start and I found the schematics here: http://www.igniteautomation.com/hc-osd.html though I have not made sense of schematics yet.

How can this be done without a dedicated pcb for new circuit designs? Any current projects using and detailing how this is done on their circuit?

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Looks like a great full featured option.
Are those actual screen grabs in the docs or composite photos???

How would the experts here explain simple OSD implementation to a newbie without saying buy another board???

They're composites. It's hard to get photos of a video screen that are suitable for illustration purposes.
