Mouser will not re-stock until 9/24/10. Newark and Digi-key are out to...UGHH. I really want to get my hands on a couple of em'. It is a whole development kit for less than 5 bucks!!

I hope they don't re-evaluate the price and whether it is worth keeping it as it is.

Pure envy.... They won't ship to Taiwan for this offer.

Why don't they make more so they will stop having these crazy shortages? I hope i can get in on this deal before it is gone.

I have been playing with my 3 kits.
These things are amazing for 4.30!

The free C compilers seem to work very
well and asm is pretty easy too.

One of the guys already found a use for
the 430 that came on the demo board
so I guess they will order a bunch of them.
I will try to snag a few for my own experiments :-)

I contacted TI because the web site showed my order shipped but I never got them. Here is their response:

"Your order is currently in a back order status. The shipped status is incorrect. They Product Group had to move the parts to a shipped status due to an error in the system. I do apologize for the confusion. TI has realized unprecedented demand for the MSP430 Value Line LaunchPad tool which became back ordered within the first few days of availability."

    This link also states:
    http://forums.parallax.com/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=933582

"We're building these as fast as we can!
Additional units are available every 2 weeks. Thanks for your patience!"

Got my 3 kits yesterday. Boxes got squished a bit in transit, but no harm done. Free Fedex shipping, nothing to complain about!

    That's a full 2 months since I ordered them.

BTW, it looks like you can still backorder them, if you don't mind waiting. Might arrive in time to use for Christmas stocking stuffers for all your techie friends!

I finally broke down and ordered my 3 kits last Friday 8/20. Their ordering system was having "glitches" so I had to order through a customer service person (extremely nice, by the way).

He said that all old orders were scheduled to ship by the end of August. Of course, I just missed the cut and mine would not ship until the end of September.

I have not received my order yet! (Date: 06/26/2010) for a few weeks ago, I could check my order status, but now I can't even log on the TI eStore home page, not recognizing my email!!! Are you received yours?

I got an email the other day saying that my two had been shipped, and I see that my card has been debited ($8.60 + $1.50). They should materialise next week.

They probably don't want to lose too much money on them. :)

My order disappeared too. Maybe I should wait till Mouser has them in stock.

TI kinda sucks as a retailer.

It's probably OK. My order had disappeared as well, but I still got it, eventually.

I ordered on June 25 but nothing yet - maybe they will appear some day...

My also order disappeared. Doesn't seem like they are too intereste in promoting these things!!

I think it's just bugs in their web page code.

I had ordered 2 kits from TI on June 26 and like others my order disappeared. I placed a new order on Sept 3rd and received the kits on the 9th so I assume they are now in stock.

I finally got my order to go through today - and it appears that shipping is free again! Although that wasn't clear until the end.

It seems that they redesigned their web page, and the earlier errors have gone away. I had tried to place an order in the past, but it ended with an error, and a "pending" on my credit card. But no product.

When I went back today, it said that it didn't recognize my email address, so I guess that previous session was completely lost. Hopefully, their upgrade has fixed all of the old problems.

I almost re-ordered and then decided to just forget about it since my June 25 order and logon id disappeared.

Then yesterday got a shipping notice and Fedex tracking number but my credit card hasn't been charged...

Apparently the rumors of lost orders were exaggerated or unfounded. I ordered my board on 30 June and just received word that it will be delivered today. I had contemplated reordering, too, but then decided that if TI wasn't competent to fill an order, perhaps I'd give their chip a pass. But they proved true to their word. You simply can't believe everything you hear.

I just received my Launchpad yesterday. I ordered it on 7-20-2010. Their documentation isn't anywhere near as good as the Propeller manual. I am going to have fun playing with it though!
