Screws for Parallax Standard Servo

I have some screws for the servo with the Parallax standard servo, but I don't have enough for the project I am starting. I haven't been able to find any place that sells screws/bolts in that size. I'm trying to mount onto the X shaped arm that comes with the servo. From what I can tell, the screw size is #0.

Any suggestions on where I can get more of these tiny screws/bolts?

Thanks

Thanks, but that's for the screw that mounts the arm to the servo body. I need the smaller screws that fit in the holes in the X shaped arm. Each branch of the X has four small holes, which a #0 screw/bolt could fit into

And you could always open the holes up a bit to fit 2-56 hardware, they are a little easier to find.

Great. Is that the name of the screw/bolt? 2-56?

Yes, they can be found at most Hobby Shops or good hardware store, or online. (The website that Phil posted is a good one)

    (2) is the size and (56) is the threads per inch. You will also see, 4-40, 6-32, 8-32, 10-32 and so on. These are incrementaly larger sizes.

"2-56" is a machine thread, though. The soft plastic of servo horns is more suited to a self-threading sheet metal screw -- unless you're willing to attach your parts with both screws and nuts. I'd be more inclined to get #0 or #1 sheet metal screws for this app.

    Phil,

I thought I read Bolt/Nut in the original post, but it was Screw/Bolt.

I usually use parts like these. All depends on what the OP is trying to attach to the servo arm.

Let's ask him. tongue.gif· spry981 What are you trying to attach?

I'm making a six-legged robot, and need to attach arm segments to the servo arm. So, I need something that can secure the robot arm segment (1/8 thick plastic) to the servo arm.

So I am assuming you will need the arm segment to have freedom of movment around the·bolt/screw?·I would suggest a bolt,·three washers, and a nylok nut. Bolt and washer on the top of the servo arm, a washer under the servo arm,·attach the arm and then another washer and then the nylok nut.

The nyloc nut is a nut that has plastic in it so it doesn't back out. Just like using a lock washer.

You will need a 5/64" or 7/64" drill to enlage the hole.

What·size are you looking for? Lengths can be gotten down to 3/8" from quick searches.

Length would probably be at least 3/8", since the arm segment is 1/8", plus the server arm is approx 1/8", and I'll need space for the washers and lock nut.

Thanks for helping me figure this out, guys.

Of course, I'm still in the same boat of not being able to find bolts (or screws). I tried the microfasteners site, but it keeps telling me no results found.
