My Propeller based article now in the July issue of N&V!

At last!
Today I checked the mail (we were gone over the weekend) and I saw my new issue of Nuts and Volts, with my article in it! "The Spin Zone" was also in the issue, so that was 2 Propeller articles all in one magazine! I'm hoping that this will get more people to wonder what all the fuss is about and try it out. I'm glad that the Prop has gained one more place to get the attention of hobbyists.

Oh, and if you are wondering about the instructions, I have contacted N&V about it already. It appears that they have swapped my recommended pics for Figure C,D, and E with ones that don't work with the instructions. It must have been a little mixup when assigning what pictures to put in the magazine. Even still, I'm glad my article's there.

Thanks,
Micro

    The article is great!
One question, though: I noticed a IR sensor on the right-hand side of the front of the box, but didn't see any references to it in the article....
    What is its function?

Thanks everyone! I'm glad to have gotten in print at last!

@MacGeek117: I made 2 prototypes of the box, the first one used IR instead of RFID for unlocking. It also didn't work right.
Also, the pictures that I said were wrong were of the first prototype (the non working one) that they must have ruled as more photogenic.

Congrats Microcontrolled! This will look good on your resume - keep copies of all your articles (print and e-published), along with un-published articles about your projects, to put together a portfolio. When I am looking for an engineer, especially a young one, I want to see what they have actually accomplished. I like your enthusiasm and have enjoyed talking with you at the Expos, and this, along with your portfolio, will help a lot when you get done with your schooling and are looking for a job.

So, tell us what you went through to get this article published. How did you pick the project, why did you pick N&V, how did you go about contacting them, etc., etc., etc... Inquiring minds want to know! smilewinkgrin.gif

    Hello Microcontrolled!

Congratulations on getting in print!! It is definitely something to be proud of. I just had a chance to see the issue and I saw that your article made it in there. Hope this is just the beginning of something great for you. Keep it up!

I have some articles in the works and perhaps we'll both have something in a future issue.

    Best Regards,

    Robert
